GlobalAustin recognizes outstanding leadership in international relations through two awards – the Joe W. Neal Award which goes to a person who has, over many years, demonstrated  commitment to  positive contributions to international relations and the Emerging Leader Award which goes to a person who demonstrates the potential for a life-time of dedication to fostering international relations .   You are invited to submit letters of nomination  for these awards to GlobalAustin, 1103 West 24th Street, Austin, TX  78705 or e-mail to globalaustined@aol.com.  Include supporting documents such as a CV, resume or letters supporting the nomination.  Please submit nominations no later than April 15, 2013.

                                JOE W. NEAL  AWARD

FOR OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

To submit a nomination for the Joe W. Neal Award, send a letter of nomination demonstrating the following:

  •  Active involvement, for many years, in one or more organizations that promote international contacts, foreign relations, international trade and commerce, hospitality to foreign visitors and guests, sister city relationships, student exchange programs, study abroad, promotion of world peace, or academic research and study in foreign relations, or foreign cultures
  •  Recognition in the Austin community and elsewhere as a person dedicated to promoting international and cross-cultural ties, communication and understanding
  • Knowledge of other countries and cultures
  • Positive relationships with persons in other nations and cultures
  • Vision of global interdependence and the importance of seeing the world and its challenges as a whole 

 

>Emerging Leader in International Relations Award<

This award will go to someone who demonstrates the potential to be a long-term, dedicated leader in international relations in the Austin community and elsewhere.  To submit a nomination for GlobalAustin’s Emerging Leader in International Relations Award, send a letter of nomination demonstrating the following:

  •  Active involvement in one or more organizations that promote international contacts, foreign relations, international trade and commerce, hospitality to foreign visitors and guests, sister city relationships, student exchange programs, study abroad, promotion of world peace, or academic research and study in foreign relations, or foreign cultures
  •  Recognition in the Austin community and elsewhere as a person dedicated to promoting international and cross-cultural ties, communication and understanding
