GlobalAustin invites college students to intern throughout the year. Both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply. These are unpaid internship opportunities, however, internships can be college credit-earning. Interns assist with social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn). Interns also assist with newsletters and updating the International Austin event calendar. They report to and work with our Executive Director and assist our Associate Executive Director - International Programs. Typically, GlobalAustin hosts 2 Interns per term, but more positions can become available depending on programming. See below some of our current and past interns.
Global Austin Fall Intern 2020
Hildana Adhanom is a senior at St. Edward’s University double majoring in Global Studies & Political Science. She find the works of creating Interglobal society to be extremely important. As an international student from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a Global Studies major with an emphasis over international law, she has developed a deep passion in international exchange. In St. Edward’s, she has served student leader roles in the Office of Diversity, Student Activities and Student Involvement Office to promote inclusive environments but also learn about different perspectives and add her own voice in topics she advocates for. Having the great chance to experience leadership positions as a student has provided her with a diverse background and strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally. Outside of the university, she has travelled to to attend delegations such as the Future We Want MUN (FWWMUN) in New York representing China.
