Global Classrooms

Please include “Re: Irina Karmanova” in the notes section of the State Department Request Form.

Local Resources

The greater Austin region is fortunate to have many organizations and individuals with global expertise. The University of Texas is home to the Texas Diplomat in Residence, for the US Department of State, international scholars and programs are available through UT, St. Edwards and Texas State University.  The Austin region is also home to numerous Fulbright Scholars.

You can request a global speaker for your classrooms or clubs by completing a Global Speaker Request Form and GlobalAustin will assist you in contacting and arranging for a speaker or panel for your students.

Diplomat Stimulations

The United States Diplomacy Center’s education programs immerse students in the world of American   diplomacy and the critical work of the United States Department of State. At the heart of the Center’s education programs are our diplomacy simulations. These are hands-on exercises that allow students and teachers to experience what it is like to be a diplomat while grappling with complex foreign affairs topics.

On-line materials and training for educators are available at: https://diplomacy.state.gov/simulations/overview/index.htm

Diplomatic simulations were used in the 2017 Interscholastic Youth summit.
